We are looking for a Scientist to join our R&D team in Denmark. If you're passionate about coating development, collaboration, and delivering impactful solutions to the market, this is your opportunity to shape the next generation of high-performance coatings around the world. 

Some of the tasks you will be entrusted with 

As part of our global R&D organisation, you will play a central role in developing and optimising coating solutions for protection and beautification of steel structures at sea or on shore. You will work in close collaboration with colleagues across the world to bring new products or optimized products from the lab bench to commercial reality. 

You’ll lead complex projects that balance technical performance, regulatory compliance, and market needs. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Technical lead of R&D projects to develop or optimise paint formulations 

  • Conduct hands-on laboratory work to build deep formulation knowledge and be able to later guide one or more lab technicians 

  • Collaborate across functions and geographies e.g. with colleagues in Asia, Europe, MiddleEast, Americas to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing 

  • Support the development and maintenance of test methods and test protocols 

  • Contribute to be on the forefront related to sustainability of coating solutions by replacing raw materials of future concern 

  • Conduct testing and evaluation of current and experimental coating systems, ensuring they meet agreed standards and specifications 

  • Provide assistance to Production-labs and assist in handling complaints 

 

What we expect you to have in your backpack as background and experience  

  • University degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field 

  • Solid understanding of organic or inorganic chemistry 

  • A hands-on approach and enthusiasm for working in the lab to test and develop formulations 

  • Strong project management and collaboration skills, especially in cross-functional and international teams 

  • Curiosity, structure, and a proactive mindset 

  • Fluency in English
