VP, Content and Marketing

This VP of Content and Marketing will be responsible for leading our brand voice. This senior leader will set the strategic direction and oversee the execution of content across our advertising, social, proposal, and other brand efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive content and marketing strategy aligned with agency growth goals.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of content creators, designers, and marketing specialists.

Content Development & Creative Direction

  • Oversee the creation of brand content across channels and Go-To-Market initiatives.
  • Oversee our GTM narrative and voice in brand messaging, guidelines, tone, and ensure brand consistency.
  • Establish and maintain content standards, style guides, and approval processes to ensure consistency and quality.

Agency Marketing & Brand Growth

  • Design and implement marketing plans to elevate the agency’s brand, generate new business opportunities, and support sales efforts.
  • Oversee our owned channels (website, blog, newsletter, podcasts) and earn/paid media strategy.

Performance Management

  • Set clear KPIs for content and marketing initiatives; measure, analyze, and report on performance.
  • Optimize campaigns through data-driven insights, ensuring continuous improvement.

RFP Response Leadership

  • Partner with GTM and Client Services teams to align marketing efforts to new and existing clients.
  • Develop voice for proposals and pitch decks.
  • Oversee the team leading content for pitches and RFP responses.

Innovation & Thought Leadership

  • Stay ahead of content, design, and digital marketing trends; champion innovative approaches and technologies (including AI).
  • Represent the agency at conferences, webinars, and industry events.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field (master's degree is a plus).
  • 10 years' experience in content marketing, digital marketing, or brand strategy, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in brand storytelling, content production processes, and digital marketing.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills required.
  • Experience leading and motivating a team of content professionals.
  • Good initiative, take responsibility, and adapt to change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Conflict resolution and problem solving.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
  • An understanding of direct response programs, including multichannel fundraising, telemarketing, paid media, direct marketing analytics, and more.
  • Ability to refine messaging tone across a variety of nonprofit causes – food banks, faith-based, animal welfare, health & hospitals, and others.

LOCATION: Remote, U.S. Some travel required.

Pay range expected for the position: $125,000-$140,000 annually.
