About the Role

As Sales Director, you will be responsible for growing Harman’s automotive business to meet customer specific booking targets. You and your team will engage with the customer in an early stage to create business opportunities and drive these opportunities with healthy commercials to award.

 
Your Team

This position leads a team of Sales for China market supporting Harman Strategic Business Units (SBU) projects and future automotive products for Toyota China.

What You Will Do

  • Build, maintain and drive the customer strategy for existing and new business opportunities with Toyota China in alignment with the customer account strategy
  • Monitor competitive activities with the customer and keep the business informed and define/execute appropriate defensive measures
  • Build and execute 10 years plan working with global members within CAM Toyota as China Sales Lead
  • Drive growth strategy of Toyota / CG Japan with CAM lead and leadership team
  • Identify and create new pursuits and drive early engagement activities including “war gaming” and 10 standards
  • Own RFI/RFQ response for new business opportunities and be responsible for the quote as well as for commercial sourcing negotiations with the customer
  • Create game-changing unique selling proposition and value statements
  • Understand customer expectations (cost, requirements, timing) and define internal targets to meet them
  • Identify key stakeholders and decision makers within Toyota China and develop strategies to win new business
  • Lead and develop China Business within CAM Toyota as highly engaged sales director, guide and educate the members
  • In future execute the HR cycle activities including hiring, performance management, succession planning, coaching and development

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 10+ years of related sales experience, at least 3 years in Automotive ideally with T-Company and at least 3 years in / for China
  • Must have a thorough understanding of Japanese Automotive OEM’s organization and processes
  • Thorough understanding of P&L statements, business cases and quotes / contracts with automotive OEMs
  • Strong hunting and negotiation skills
  • Experience developing and executing a strategy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

What is Nice to Have

  • 3 years leading a Sales Organization
  • Technical understanding of Automotive HW and SW systems in the area of car audio, infotainment, connectivity (5G/BT/WIFI) and ADAS
  • Experience within or working with Toyota
  • Communication skills in Chinese
