SUMMARY:
The Network Engineering Manager leads a team of engineers responsible for the deployment, automation, and optimization of venue networks. This role drives the strategic direction of the venue network architecture, ensures operational excellence, and champions automation to scale infrastructure and reduce manual tasks. This individual will collaborate cross-functionally, mentor engineering staff, and maintain strong vendor relationships to align emerging technologies with business goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Management
- Lead and mentor a team of network engineers to achieve technical and operational excellence.
- Provide performance feedback, develop career paths, and conduct regular coaching sessions.
- Establish and enforce network engineering best practices, documentation standards, and operational procedures.
Network Architecture & Strategy
- Improve, automate and maintain the venue network architecture.
- Oversee the design and deployment of network infrastructure supporting new markets and services.
- Review and approve network configurations and deployment plans across teams.
Process Automation & Optimization
- Identify repetitive and manual network tasks that can be automated using scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.).
- Lead the development of automation pipelines to support configuration management, network provisioning, and monitoring.
- Standardize tools and workflows to streamline network operations and reduce time-to-deploy.
Vendor Management & Technology Evaluation
- Maintain strong relationships with key hardware and software vendors to evaluate and implement new technologies.
- Direct vendor selection and Proof of Concept (POC) testing with clear documentation of analysis and recommendations.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Project Managers, NOC, Field Engineering, and Customer Support to ensure network designs align with service delivery goals.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues across the organization.
Budget & Project Oversight
- Manage engineering project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Track capital expenditures on network equipment and ensure procurement aligns with strategic plans.
Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of all network environments.
- Deliver reports and presentations to executive leadership outlining network performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent; CCIE a plus.
- Experience leading a Network Engineering or Network Architecture team in a service provider environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Familiarity with MikroTik, Juniper, and Cisco platforms.
- Proven ability to develop and implement scalable network automation frameworks.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple high-impact initiatives under pressure.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CWNP certification is a plus.
- Experience with Git-based version control for infrastructure as code.
- Experience with cloud or hybrid networking environments (AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, or Grafana.
