JOB SUMMARY

The National Center for Clinical Trials (NCCT) is designed to serve as an innovative platform to revolutionize and catalyze the conduct of clinical trials−greatly accelerating the translation of scientific findings into improvements in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease for our communities and patients. The NCCT will offer core services for patient recruitment and enrollment, trial administration and follow-up, and to gather real world data and evidence.

This position will be part of a team that will report to leadership in the NCCT and provides direct administrative support for the NCCT.

Administratively supports a set of diverse and complex awards that include non-federal, industry, and international funders. Works independently, anticipates and resolves problems; and updates supervisor on status of contracts. Uses independent judgment and problem-solving skills to ensure compliance with sponsor and donor regulations, Institutional policies as well as departmental procedures within their respective area (contracts). This is a high-volume, fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Accounting, Finance or related field of study
  • At least two years of experience in grant accounting, research administration, grant/contract application and review/negotiation and/or paralegal experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION

Certified Research Administrator (CRA) as granted by the Research Administrators Certification Council preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The NCCT Contract Administrator III is expected to work at either the technical or non-technical competency level indicated for their respective area of contracts.

  1. Supports faculty members and department administrators in the various stages of the contract life cycle.
  2. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of institutional cost policies and multiple funding agency guidelines including federal, state, private foundations, and associations and the application of these policies to the various stages of the contract life cycle is required. Demonstrates understanding of all systems and applications utilized for storage and retrieval of data.
  3. Understands the negotiation and documentation process related to each stage of the contract life cycle.
  4. Reviews financial information to ensure compliance with institution and granting agency requirements to provide assistance to stakeholders involved in the various stages of the contract life cycle.
  5. Demonstrates understanding of appropriateness of consultation with institutional management and/or Legal Department related to contract language, financial, and post-execution monitoring of agreements.
  6. Possesses knowledge to provide support and guidance to stakeholders for contracts entered into by the institution.
  7. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding to fulfill reporting requirements of contracts awarded.
  8. Represents and promotes the institution's research activities at meetings.
  9. Demonstrates understanding of all systems and applications utilized for storage and retrieval of data.
  10. Maintains a positive working relationship with stakeholders and provides needed support during the contracts life cycle.
  11. Demonstrates mastery of knowledge needed to assist and support the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures relating to the administration of contracts.
  12. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and internal/external customer service skills, required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with computerized databases (e.g., Microsoft Excel), word processing (e.g., Microsoft Word), and presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, regulations, and policies
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities/deadlines

$32.45 - $48.70
