ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT

Overview

This is a strategic position for our team surrounding DLA projects and is contingent upon award. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Strategic Architecture Development
  • Design and maintain enterprise-level IT architecture aligned with business goals.
  • Develop architectural models and documentation for enterprise systems and operations.
  • Technical Leadership
  • Provide high-level guidance to technical teams and project managers.
  • Establish and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and governance processes.
  • Technology Evaluation and Selection
  • Advise on the selection and integration of technologies related to:
    1. Data processing and storage
    2. Data access and analytics
    3. Application development and deployment
  • Standards and Policy Setting
  • Define and implement technical and functional standards to guide IT and operations strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and organizational policies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a liaison between business units, IT teams, and executive leadership.
  • Translate business requirements into architectural solutions.
  • Feasibility and Future Planning
  • Assess and advise on the feasibility of future IT projects and initiatives.
  • Contribute to long-term IT planning and digital transformation strategies.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Recommend innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
  • All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
Demonstrated Knowledge and experience in: 
  • Enterprise Architecture Frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, DoDAF, Zachman)
  • IT Infrastructure and Operations – including networking, cloud services, databases, and cybersecurity
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices
  • Systems Integration and interoperability standards (e.g., APIs, SOA, REST)
  • Business Process Modeling and mapping
  • Data Management principles – including data architecture, governance, and analytics
  • Cloud Platforms – AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Compliance & Security Standards – NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP (especially for government roles)
  • Must demonstrate a respectful demeanor.   
  • Experience with presenting material to senior-level officials
Preferred Qualifications
  • DoD contract experience. 
  • Military trained.

 

Clearance:

 

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.

 

Education & Experience:

 

  • BS/BA or higher degree in Engineering, Finance or Business.  
  • 8 years of experience in contingency contracting and/or experience in managing/using contingency tools. 
  • In lieu of a degree, 4 or more years of relevant experience may suffice.

 

Location:

 

  • Remote but must be able to meet on Ft. Belvoir as needed.
  • Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Schedule flexing is available with the PM’s approval. 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work.  Ability to sit for extended periods (e.g., at a desk or computer)
  •  Manual dexterity; typing, using a mouse, handling documents or digital tools. 
  • Close vision; working on screens, reading documents, charts, schedules. 
  • Standard hearing. 
  • Clear Communications; presenting, leading meetings, coordinating with stakeholders. 
  • Light lifting: occasionally lifting items under 10-15 bld. (e.g., laptop, notebooks.)

 

Travel:

 

  • Periodic travel to the customer site at Ft. Belvoir, VA.
