Job description

The Virtual CFO will serve as a strategic financial advisor to the leadership team, working part-time to provide high-impact guidance, oversight, and financial direction. Positioned above the Finance Controller and FP&A teams

Roles and Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Leadership  

  • Define and drive financial strategy in alignment with business goals  

  • Advise promoters and senior management on capital structure, debt planning, and growth investments  

  • Assess financial viability of new projects, joint ventures, and partnerships  

  • Provide strategic input on pricing models, project feasibility, and cost-benefit analysis  

Financial Planning & Analysis  
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes  

  • Review project-level profitability, margins, and cost control measures  

  • Analyze financial and operational KPIs to support data-driven decision making  

  • Identify variances and recommend corrective actions to improve financial performance  

Governance & Compliance  
  • Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements  

  • Oversee timely filing of GST, TDS, income tax, and other statutory returns  

  • Support audits, liaise with auditors, and implement recommendations for process improvements  

  • Establish and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risks  

Cash Flow & Treasury Management  
  • Monitor project cash flows, working capital requirements, and funding gaps  

  • Manage banking relationships, debt servicing, and credit facilities  

  • Optimize fund deployment across multiple projects and business units  

Stakeholder Management  
  • Present financial reports, dashboards, and insights to promoters and investors  

  • Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and legal teams for financial oversight  

  • Support fundraising, investor relations, and due diligence activities as required



Requirements

Qualifications:

  • MBA in Finance or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification required  

  • 15–25 years of senior finance leadership experience, preferably in real estate or turnkey contracting  

  • Strong expertise in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management  

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills  

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive financial performance across business units
