Description
IgniteAction, a joint venture between ActioNet and Ignite has an immediate opening for a Network Engineer/F5 SMEto provide advanced support, configuration, and maintenance of F5 load balancing technologies, including BIG-IP, LTM, GTM/DNS, APM, and ASM modules. The engineer will ensure high availability, performance, and security of application delivery in enterprise or government IT infrastructure environments.

Clearance Requirement: Public Trust High (Eligibility to US Citizens Only) / Background Check
- Provide daily operational support and troubleshooting for F5 BIG-IP systems, including LTM, GTM, APM, and ASM modules.
- Manage the deployment, configuration, and tuning of F5 appliances and virtual instances.
- Design and implement traffic management policies, iRules, SSL offloading, health monitors, and virtual servers.
- Coordinate with application, network, and security teams to support the delivery of secure and optimized application services.
- Perform software upgrades, patches, and system backups for F5 devices.
- Monitor system performance and conduct capacity planning.
- Analyze logs and conduct root cause analysis of traffic flow issues or service interruptions.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and federal security standards (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP).
- Support disaster recovery and high availability configurations.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience managing and supporting F5 BIG-IP systems in large-scale environments.
- Proficiency in configuring and supporting LTM, GTM/DNS, APM, and ASM modules.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, SSL/TLS, SNMP, and Layer 4-7 network protocols.
- Experience writing and troubleshooting iRules and Traffic Policies.
- Familiarity with integration of F5 with identity providers for SSO/MFA (e.g., SAML, OAuth).
- Hands-on experience with F5 upgrades, HA clustering, and firmware management.
- Familiarity with common tools: Wireshark, Splunk, CLI tools, or REST APIs for F5 automation.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- F5 Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or Certified Solution Expert (CSE) certification.
- Experience supporting F5 in hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of Ansible, Terraform, or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Experience with government compliance frameworks (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP, TIC 3.0).
