Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit civil law firm, seeks a full-time Kinship Paralegal. The successful candidate will be highly organized, able to work independently and as part of a team, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and have a passion for serving low-income Georgians. They should also have extensive experience with Microsoft Office, working proficiently in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Responsibilities:
The Kinship Paralegal will assist families caring for children not their own to provide stability for kinship families in rural Georgia. The Paralegal will provide screening assistance, benefits enrollment, referrals, casework management, community education and outreach, and litigation support for GLSP offices and attorneys. The Paralegal will improve access to community-based services.
The Paralegal will work to educate community partners and organize outreach events to provide access to justice and opportunities out of poverty in rural Georgia. The Paralegal will provide grant support for the project by assisting to develop grant proposals, train new staff on grant requirements, monitor and develop budgets for the project, as well as assisting with grant monitoring and progress to funders. The Paralegal position requires strong communication and planning abilities to support the communication and coordination needs of GLSP and external partners. The position will be a full time remote position and may require three days remote and two in office hours for new employees.

· High School Graduate; some college or relevant work experience preferred
· Vehicle and valid driver’s license required for business-related travel
· Ability to speak Spanish is preferred, but not a requirement
Salary:
The starting salary is $37,080, but is dependent upon experience and qualifications. The program provides generous fringe benefits, including paid holidays and paid time off, including parental leave; birthday holiday; health, life, and long and short-term disability; 403B with 3% match; In addition, employees who pass GLSP’s Spanish proficiency test receive additional compensation. GLSP offers a hybrid and remote work schedule subject to management approval and completion of a probationary employment period.
