About the Position

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented intern to support our business development teams in Europe through market research, CRM database management, and commercial operations support across multiple European regions. This is a 6-month internship starting as soon as possible.

This role is essential to the success of our public sector commercial team. You’ll help power our outreach efforts by ensuring we have clean, structured and actionable data and insights.

What you will be doing

Conduct targeted market research to identify potential leads across European public sector markets
Clean, organise and update data in our CRM (HubSpot), ensuring high data quality
Maintain and expand our lead lists, including researching relevant contacts and organisations
Support the tracking of commercial campaigns and help prepare basic reports for performance review
Monitor relevant news, public funding opportunities and tender announcements in the smart/sustainable cities space
Assist with internal process documentation and CRM optimisation as needed

What you can bring in

Experience or strong interest in business operations, market research, or CRM/data work
Tech-driven, with a good command of MS Office tools and a keen interest in data searching and analysis
Previous exposure to CRM tools (HubSpot preferred) ideal but not required
A proactive, analytical mindset and eagerness to learn
Excellent attention to detail, especially when managing data
Comfortable working independently and remotely with an international team

Your profile

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Data/Information Management, Marketing, Urban Studies, or a related field
Internship must be part of your curriculum or eligible for a university-sponsored placement
Fluent in English (professional proficiency); other EU languages (especially Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, Turkish and/or French) are a plus
Interest in the smart/sustainable cities or public sector domain is welcome

About us

BABLE was founded in 2017 as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Research Society with the goal to create a digital knowledge exchange around smart city topics. This newly created platform was to enable city governments to find the right technologies that can improve the quality of life for their citizens.

The impact of this platform and the following projects BABLE undertook in the years since its foundation increasingly helped to build a missing bridge between the public and private sector.
