The Position

The Program Supervisor will report to the Program Manager. This is full-time, permanent position that requires flexible hours and is based out of our Whyte Avenue Centre (10130 82 Ave, Edmonton, AB). This role is responsible for the successful execution of service delivery, supervision, and performance management of team members and collaboration internally and externally. The conscientious Program Supervisor acts with integrity, is open to growth, lives our purpose, cultivates teamwork, and demonstrates an extraordinary effort to empower individuals with diverse abilities and their families to grow, succeed, and belong.

Key Functions

  1. Lead team in planning, delivering, monitoring, and evaluating enhanced respite services resulting in an extraordinary degree of customer and employee satisfaction
  2. Support and supervise team members while effectively utilizing financial and operational resources through compliance with organizational and departmental policies and core processes
  3. Accountable for consistent achievement and results of individual and program outcomes
  4. Responsible for effectively maintaining and utilizing funding according to policies , agreements, and contracts
  5. Maintain timely, accurate, and professional correspondence, records, reports, schedules, spreadsheets, and documentation
  6. Ensure the safety of participants, employees, volunteers, and family members attending programming and facilities
  7. Perform other job-related activities as required

Qualifications

  1. Minimum education requirement of High School Diploma with a minimum of 10-12 years of related experience, a diploma or certificate in Disability Services, Social Work, Human Services, or related field with 6-8 years of related experience, or a University Degree in Disability Services, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field with 5-6 years of related experience 
  2. Minimum 3 years supervisory experience working with individuals with complex behaviours
  3. Practical experience and theoretical knowledge regarding complex behaviours, human rights approach, and community inclusion
  4. Alignment with AdaptAbilities’ core purpose and core values
  5. Ability to remain calm in emotionally challenging situations and effectively use empathy
  6. Strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  8. Demonstrated proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) 
  9. Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check are required
  10. Intermediate First Aid Level C and AED, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol
  11. Valid driver’s license and own vehicle with clear driving abstract

Compensation Salary will commensurate on experience, education, and compensation policy.
