DS2 is a healthcare support services organization. We are a team made up of industry leaders with decades of experience and expertise in pre- and post-analytical support services. Our services include custom kitting & distribution, logistics & transportation, phlebotomy & sample collection, and IT & EMR integrations.
We are seeking skilled phlebotomists to assist with taking vitals and blood draws during a wellness event, 4/28-5/1 during various hours, for a total of 30 hours minimum. The location is within the following zip codes: 80249 and 80207.
You will be responsible for checking in patients and recording patients' vitals and performing venipunctures and vitals, ensuring proper specimen handling, and providing excellent customer service during the wellness event.
Key Responsibilities:
Checking vitals.
Perform venipunctures and capillary draws to collect blood samples from patients.
Verify patient identification and ensure all necessary paperwork and consent forms are completed accurately.
Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and transportation of specimens to a FedEx drop off location in accordance with safety protocols.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including infection control standards.
Record patient information accurately in electronic health records or paper forms.
Provide excellent patient care by explaining the procedure and addressing any concerns or anxieties.
Follow established protocols for specimen handling and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with lab standards.
Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with patients, healthcare professionals, and other team members.
Pay:
$20 per hour.
Contractor must agree to handle waste disposal after each event (sharps container). Sharps containers will be provided at each location, along with biohazard bags for proper disposal.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
Current Phlebotomy Certification (e.g., from the American Society for Clinical Pathology [ASCP], National Phlebotomy Association [NPA], or similar certification body).
Two years or more of current/recent experience in phlebotomy, preferably in a mobile or home healthcare setting.
Knowledge of blood collection techniques, safety protocols, and specimen handling procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients of varying ages and backgrounds.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
