Job description

The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Vermont State University, Department of Nursing, invites applications for a Part-Time Clinical Instructor on our Castleton campus for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters (August 25, 2025 - May 17, 2026).

Variety of clinical courses to be taught on our Castleton Campus

Vermont State University, pre-licensure Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Program, is seeking clinical instructors for a variety of clinical courses in the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters. The department is eagerly seeking registered nurses with a minimum of a Master’s degree and clinical expertise in adult health, obstetrics, and/or mental health who want to contribute to the clinical education of nursing students seeking a BSN. Clinical sites where instruction occurs vary according to the specialty. Certain clinical courses will require the clinical instructor to perform on-campus lab instruction on the Castleton campus.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must possess (at minimum) a Master's degree in Nursing or related field with clinical expertise in adult health, obstetrics, and/or mental health. An active unencumbered Vermont RN licensure or eligibility for an unencumbered Vermont license required. A valid driver's license is required.

Salary:
Based on the applicant’s educational preparation and the number of clinical hours associated with the assigned course.

Applicants interested in applying must submit a Cover Letter, Resume/CV and Unofficial College Transcripts from your highest obtained degree (official transcripts will be required if hired) and contact information of at least three professional references.

Applications will be accepted until positions are filled or by date specified. However, applications received after the initial screening will be considered at the discretion of the College. Vermont State University strongly encourages applications from members of ethnic minority groups and other under-represented backgrounds.

Vermont State University is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any individual because of race, color, religion, ancestry, place of birth, gender, gender identity, Vermont location entity, sexual orientation, national origin, age or veteran status, or against a qualified individual with a disability, or any other person whose status is protected under local, state or federal laws. In compliance with ADA requirements, we will make reasonable accommodations for the known disability of an otherwise qualified applicant.

All full-time and some part-time positions are subject to a criminal background check. Any offer of employment is conditional upon successful completion of these checks.
