Job description

Pulse is currently searching for an experienced Pediatric Speech and Language Therapist who can provide overall support, working permanent part-time 2 days per week in a specialist pediatric clinic with children who have a range of communication needs including speech delay/disorder, stammer and autism. Optionally, full-time hours can also be provided but will be based at other locations. This post is based in Ongar.

About the role:

As a Pediatric Speech and Language Therapist at our specialist secondary school, you’ll provide vital support to students with autism and learning disabilities. In this role, you’ll assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication problems, enabling each child to achieve their full potential. Collaborating with educators, parents, and other therapists, you’ll develop individualized plans tailored to each student’s needs. Your expertise will not only enhance their academic abilities but also improve their daily lives and interactions. This permanent position in Eltham offers a chance to make a lasting impact starting June 6th.

Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Assessing and providing diagnoses and specialist advice on a range of communication disorders to other professionals and families.
  • To work at an autonomous level demonstrating a specialist knowledge and range of therapeutic approaches.
  • Delivering group and individual therapy as required.
  • Providing regular written and verbal advice, reports and therapy programmes.
  • Providing families with advice and training to support the management of intervention and ensure generalisation of targets.
