Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6/7 Locum Adult Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. This role offers the flexibility of remote working while providing specialized speech and language therapy services to adult patients in acute wards. Responsibilities:
As a Band 6/7 Locum Remote Adult Speech and Language Therapist you will be responsible for providing specialist speech and language therapy services to adult patients in acute wards, with a focus on managing dysphagia. This includes conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to address communication and swallowing disorders. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Additionally, you will maintain accurate patient records, participate in clinical audits, and contribute to the development of speech and language therapy services. Your role will also involve providing remote consultations and support, ensuring continuity of care for patients who require ongoing therapy.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience in providing speech and language therapy services to adults, particularly in acute settings.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention for dysphagia and other communication disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with the latest advancements in speech and language therapy.
  • Experience in remote working and providing virtual consultations is desirable.
