We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer to help us change the way the world works, with Parallels: anytime, anywhere, any-device productivity. Here, you’ll prepare the design and architecture of components for the Parallels Desktop family of software, including the world’s best desktop virtualization solution, Parallels Desktop for Mac.

You’ll be on the Core team, responsible for the emulation of virtual devices – including disks, keyboard, mouse, audio, and more – as well as supporting virtual machine firmware.

As a Senior Software Developer, you will:

• Research and apply innovative technologies for new features development. 
• Investigate sophisticated issues and virtualization platform maintenance.
• Strong team player, supporting education for yourself and your teammates; proactively sharing knowledge.

What YOU bring to the team: 

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or relevant work experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a C and C++ developer
• Knowledge of modern computer architectures, e.g., x86_64 and ARM64.
• Understanding of virtualization and emulation technology, such as device emulation
• Deep knowledge of modern OS design, architecture, and internals of Windows, Linux or macOS
• Willing and able to take over existing code base, including legacy code
• Willing and able to routinely investigate third-party applications issues
• Familiar with Git, Jira

The following are not required, but definitely nice to have: 

• Python, Objective-C, Swift, Shell scripting
• Firmware development, e.g., Legacy BIOS and UEFI
• Low-level system programming like kernel modules and drivers
• Networking and client server software development, internet protocols
• Hardware-specific programming experience with USB, Storage, Multimedia and other devices
• Reverse-engineering and black box debugging
• Qt framework
• OS-specific API and SDK, e.g., macOS frameworks or Win32 API or POSIX
