Position Summary
The IHR Manager is responsible for building in-depth relationships with the vendor partners across Rubicon’s network. Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain and Strategic Partnerships, you will play a crucial role in building Rubicon’s competitive advantage. You will collaborate with vendor partners to encourage them to become strategic partners. Your goal will be to ensure Rubicon receives the best service at the lowest possible price within its expansive vendor network.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Identify and implement strategic partnerships with vendors to meet customer needs including trash and recycling.
- Manage and be responsible for procuring new services and reprocuring existing services to meet the strategic needs of Rubicon.
- Supporting both Sales and Account teams on efforts to procure or reprocure services.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the waste and recycling industry.
- Monitor and improve vendor performance for Rubicon along a balanced scorecard through relationship building and negotiations.
- Drive vendor partner adoption of Rubicon’s innovative programs, such as hauler smartphone application and joint buying programs.
- Make data-driven decisions on allocation of customer locations to vendor partners based on their performance along a balanced scorecard.
- Gather, report, and communicate financial benefit of the supply chain & procurement efforts internally and towards vendor partners.
- Ability to travel and/or work onsite as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in vendor partner management with a track record of vendor performance improvement.
- Ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and drive through to resolution with the minimum of supervision.
- Experience in developing, training, and coaching others in a cooperative and engaging process.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of vendor management.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.
- Ability to work independently while also being a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Discretion and trustworthiness in handling sensitive information and supporting high-level strategic initiatives.
- Travel and/or onsite work will be on an as needed basis.
