Build the Future of Insurance Technology

Location: Hastings, Michigan| Hybrid or FT Remote Options Available
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM 

As a Senior Web Developer at Hastings Insurance, you’ll play a central role in the design, development, and support of our core Property & Casualty insurance applications. Your work will help modernize and elevate how we serve our policyholders, agents, and internal teams—making their digital experiences more seamless, responsive, and efficient. 

In this role, you’ll lead the creation of new web pages, enhance existing systems, and integrate front-end designs with powerful back-end applications. You’ll also provide architectural input, shape development standards, and work closely with teammates across IT and business units to bring scalable, intuitive solutions to life. Whether onsite, hybrid, or remote, you’ll be a vital contributor to a collaborative team focused on continuous improvement and forward momentum.

What You’ll Do:  
  • Design, build, and launch new web features and applications that enhance user experiences across platforms

  • Maintain and improve existing web solutions, ensuring performance, security, and scalability

  • Collaborate on architectural recommendations and contribute to technical solution design

  • Program across the full stack—from user interfaces to APIs and database components

  • Work within our SDLC to develop, test, debug, and document software

  • Champion best practices, coding standards, and continuous improvement within the team

  • Partner cross-functionally with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams, including executive-level collaborators

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and knowledge sharing

Additional Role Highlights: 
  • This role plays a key part in our system modernization efforts, including UI/UX upgrades and API integration

  • Our stack includes .NET 8+, React (v18+), and Azure DevOps, among other modern tools

  • Position may be based onsite at our Hastings, MI headquarters, or structured as a hybrid/remote role depending on candidate location and experience

What You’ll Bring: 
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree, relevant Microsoft certifications, or equivalent work experience

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in web development

  • Strong skills in C#/.NET, JavaScript, React, and database concepts

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD pipelines (Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps, Git)

  • Understanding of Property & Casualty Insurance a plus

  • Sharp analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical audiences
