Description

SUMMARY: The Dispatch Supervisor provides overall leadership and development of a team of Dispatchers whose responsibility is vendor assignments to all reactive service orders for all customer locations in his or her designated region. This role is responsible for the performance of the Dispatch team including personnel, processes, and systems while ensuring full volume of dispatch work is completed within customer specific timelines. The Dispatch Supervisor also provides vendor performance feedback to the Procurement Team. The role is a part of Vendor Relations which ensures vendors are selected, dispatched, and maintained within scope of master service agreements and needs of customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Dispatchers with dispatch work during increases in volume; ensuring that all customer service orders are tended to within scope of service level agreements.
  • Provide periodic performance feedback to Vendor Procurement Team, includes identifying performance shortfalls and identify continuation of service with vendors.
  • Supervise Dispatchers to meet established metrics through performance management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises 10 employees within the Dispatch Department
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  
Qualifications

  • No prior experience or training.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite
