About the role:

We are currently seeking a Channel Manager with a music industry background who is driven, passionate, focused, organized, resourceful and tech savvy. They will work with our Content Management team to foster important relationships with our music and audio partners. Our Content Management team works with some of the largest media companies and sports leagues in the world including household names like Sony Pictures, Paramount Global, the NBA, WMG, and other notable entertainment enterprises. 

Reporting to the Music Content Operations Lead, you will be strategizing about our channels and delivering high-quality engaging video content on a daily and weekly basis to our audiences. This role will include conceptualizing titles, thumbnails, copywriting, and leveraging AI. You are knowledgeable of trending topics and should excel at generating ideas and choosing imagery to create engaging videos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage YouTube channels for our music-based Content Management partners.
  • Research, plan and execute content distribution strategies based on trending music. 
  • Plan and manage content release schedules for music channels, including a daily/weekly/monthly release cadence of popular songs. 
  • Optimize YouTube videos to create clean and consistent content for our partners, including great video titles, descriptions and meta-data.
  • Develop and design thumbnails and other design requirements for channels for our Content Management partners, taking direction from brand and content guidelines. 
  • Foster the development of communities around these channels through community posts and pinned comments, while writing in the voice of the channel.
  • Deploy partner content on YouTube channels.
  • Collaborate with other members of the team to clarify visual requirements, editing styles, etc. 
  • Maintain communication internally and externally by gathering feedback and making adjustments to design optimizations as necessary throughout the entire production process directly with team members and clients.
  • Perform as a front-line resource for YouTube “best practices”.
  • Curate content playlists and channel presentation.
  • Support the training and onboarding of new team members, as required.
  • Support channel development and rights management requirements for clients as required from time to time.
  • Leverage AI tools like ChatGPT and other incoming technologies to find creative efficiencies.
  • Additional duties as required by the company from time to time.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education, or equivalent work experience. 
  • Experience working in the music industry and passion for music. 
  • 2+ years of experience in a music, social media oriented role, or equivalent. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write in English. Additionally, the ability to read and write in Spanish would be preferred. 
  • Understanding of the online video industry and best practices, particularly on YouTube. 
  • Advanced experience using Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Video editing software. 
  • Ability to take the initiative, drive excellent results, and scale. 
  • Growing understanding of brands and their needs online. 
  • Skilled in using spreadsheets and creating performance reports. 
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills. 
  • Excellent organization and time management skills. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Passion for AI and incoming technologies is a bonus. 
  • Ability to share samples of work relevant to this position, indicating your specific role in the production process. 
  • Bonus if you have a particular interest in heavy metal, American country, musicals, and/or 90s era music.
