Job description

SUMMARY:

As a CCoE (Cloud Center of Excellence) Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to drive and accelerate cloud adoption across our global organisation. You’ll help shape and enforce best-practice standards, automate repetitive processes, and ensure our hybrid cloud environment is stable, secure, scalable, and cost-effective. Working alongside application and infrastructure teams, you’ll advocate for consistent monitoring, logging, alerting, and security controls, while continuously iterating on our cloud platforms to deliver maximum value to the business.

We’re looking for candidates who are as passionate about advancing their own cloud skills as they are about uplifting the teams around them. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where experimentation is encouraged, knowledge sharing is the norm, and every voice can influence our cloud strategy.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

You will join our Cloud Center of Excellence and partner with cross-functional teams to:

  • Shape cloud strategy & standards: Contribute to the evolution of cloud best practices, reference architectures, and guardrails.

  • Automate and optimise: Build and maintain IaC modules, CI/CD pipelines, and reusable cloud automation patterns to reduce manual labour.

  • Ensure operational excellence: Implement and champion robust monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident response processes.

  • Drive security & compliance: Collaborate with security teams to embed IAM, network controls, encryption, and other safeguards into our cloud environments.

  • Architect scalable solutions: Assist in designing resilient, high-performance, cost-effective cloud architectures for new and existing applications.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by sharing learnings, running brown-bag sessions, and mentoring peers on cloud tooling, practices, and emerging technologies.

  • Resolve complex issues: Deep-dive into cloud incidents or performance problems, liaise with stakeholders, and guide resolution from root cause to mitigation.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any related technical field
  • Cloud Adoption & Best Practices: Proven track record driving cloud uptake and standardisation in an enterprise setting.
  • Agile Mindset: Comfortable working within Scrum/Kanban frameworks, adapting to shifting priorities and rapid feedback loops.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic environment; quick to learn new services and pivot as requirements evolve.
  • Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience provisioning and managing services in at least one major public cloud (Oracle Cloud experience preferred).
  • Networking: Strong understanding of VPC/VNet design and hybrid connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect).
  • Security Controls: Familiarity with IAM policies, firewalls/security groups, and encryption at rest and in transit.
  • Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools; ability to build repeatable, modular IaC.
  • Design & Architecture: Ability to contribute to solution designs that meet non-functional requirements for availability, performance, and cost-efficiency
  • Ownership & Accountability: Demonstrated pride in delivering secure, resilient, and performant cloud solutions.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
AWESOME BUT NOT REQUIRED:
  • Hybrid Cloud Exposure: Prior work integrating on-premises and public cloud via BGP, DNS, or dedicated links.
  • Additional IaC Tools: Experience with tools like Pulumi or CloudFormation.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Hands-on with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, InfluxDB, or similar stacks.
  • Scripting & Programming: Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go for build-your-own tooling and automation.
  • Cost Optimisation: Familiarity with cloud cost-management practices and tooling.
  • Certifications: Any major cloud cert (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS, Azure).
  • Mentoring & Training: Experience leading brown-bag sessions or formal internal training.
  • Containerization: Basic Docker/Kubernetes knowledge for designing container-ready architectures.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
  • Be part of our collegial environment where responsibility and authority are shared equally amongst colleagues and help create our company culture
  • A culture in which we don’t criticise failure but ensure we learn from our mistakes
  • An Agile environment where your ideas are welcome
  • The possibility to grow and experience different projects
  • Ongoing Training & Mentoring
  • The possibility to travel
