Description

The Director of Procurement is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing procurement strategies and processes that ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of medical supplies, equipment, services, and other goods required by Women’s Care. This leadership role works closely with clinical, administrative, and financial departments to align procurement practices with operational goals, regulatory standards, and budgetary constraints. The role will also partner closely with the platform’s private equity sponsor and enterprise leaders to identify and capture value across the organization.
- Develop and execute organization-wide procurement strategies that support operational and financial objectives.
- Lead and manage a procurement team responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiation, and purchasing.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
- Collaborate with operations, clinical and administrative departments to identify sourcing needs, evaluate supplier performance, and ensure supply continuity.
- Drive procurement value roadmap, including cost savings/avoidance initiatives and contract renewals—regularly updated for review with management and PE sponsor. Analyze procurement data and trends to drive cost savings, improve supplier relationships, and implement inventory control.
- Develop inventory control processes and controls methodology within the Hybrent procurement system and at the practice level, in collaboration with operations. Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Collaborate with GPO and medical / surgical distribution partners to optimize cost, SKU rationalization and to drive program compliance.
- Oversee purchasing system (Hybrent) to improve process efficiency, visibility, and accuracy.
- Develop and monitor procurement metrics and KPIs to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with Finance to forecast procurement-related budgets and ensure alignment with financial planning.
- Manage risk by evaluating supplier reliability, contract terms, and compliance with ethical sourcing standards.
- Lead initiatives to promote sustainability, diversity, and value-based purchasing in line with organizational values.
- Manage working capital with payment terms that are appropriate for the size of Women’s Care and the market.
- Partner with private equity sponsor’s Chief Procurement Officer to drive portfolio strategies across the organization and to leverage cross-portfolio procurement program.
- Lead Expense Committee to ensure that items over a $ threshold are reviewed by leadership for budget alignment, procurement compliance, strategic value, and execution readiness.
- Actively contribute to enterprise cost transformation efforts by identifying, sizing, and capturing cost savings opportunities.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive procurement experience, including at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, ideally in a healthcare setting.
- Deep understanding of healthcare procurement practices, medical supply chain operations, and vendor management.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficient in procurement systems (e.g., ERP, e-sourcing platforms) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic decisions.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, The Joint Commission, and CMS guidelines.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
- Experience managing a high-performing team and working cross-functionally with financial stakeholders (and clinical stakeholders, if possible).
- Track record of achieving measurable cost savings and bottom-line impact.
