Job Title: Estimator

Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with 5+ years of experience in the landscaping and construction industry. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project plans, evaluating labor and material costs, and preparing accurate and competitive estimates. This role plays a key part in ensuring the financial success and competitiveness of the company’s projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Conduct site visits or virtual walkthroughs (if needed) to gather relevant data for accurate assessments.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop cost-effective solutions.
  • Prepare detailed takeoffs, budgets, and proposals for landscaping and construction projects.
  • Analyze historical data, market conditions, and material pricing to inform cost predictions.
  • Identify risks, discrepancies, and cost-saving opportunities in project plans.
  • Track and update cost databases and vendor pricing lists.
  • Participate in bid meetings and client presentations as needed.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with relevant regulations and company standards.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating for landscaping and/or construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry practices.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge in using WinEst and e-takeoffs estimating software is a preferred skill
