Job description

Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Civil Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our dynamic team in a remote capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and cost estimates for a range of civil works, including earthworks, concrete, drainage, and road construction. Your expertise will ensure project cost control, compliance with specifications, and alignment with Australian industry standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with extensive civil construction experience to contribute to high-impact projects while enjoying the flexibility of working from home.

Monday to Friday | 8 AM to 5 PM AEST
Following Australian Holidays
Shutdown: The client's office will be closed from the last Friday before Christmas and will reopen on the first Monday after January 1

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BoQs) based on drawings, specifications, and scope of works.
  • Analyze project drawings and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required.
  • Estimate and price civil works including earthworks, concrete, drainage, roadworks, and other structural elements.
  • Liaise with engineers, client representatives and project managers to clarify project details and resolve discrepancies.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist in preparing tender and contract documentation.
  • Monitor project costs and prepare reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • 8 years+ experience in civil estimating and BoQ preparation.
  • Have experience with a civil contractor on large civil projects
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying and estimating software (e.g., CostX, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Excel).
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Experience working with government or large-scale infrastructure projects is an advantage.
