Position Summary

A Licensed Civil Engineer who uses experience to perform a variety of assignments requiring skills in all aspects of civil engineering design, including land development, site infrastructure, utilities, and drainage. Serving as a subject matter expert in areas of civil engineering, you hold a key position in supervising, mentoring, and motivating junior staff.

Responsibilities (subject to change, modification as needed) are as follows, but not limited to:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of civil engineering design, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and site layout.
  • Serve as the civil lead on multidisciplinary project teams for vertical building projects, ensuring cohesive integration of site and building design.
  • Coordinate permitting efforts with local and state agencies, leveraging existing relationships and regional knowledge.
  • Oversee and review the development of construction drawings and technical specifications for site development and infrastructure.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring in land development best practices, coastal engineering (if applicable), and utility coordination.
  • Act as liaison with Project Management, Architects, other Engineers, and consultants.
  • Coordinate with Director on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies.
  • Coordinate activities and provide developmental support/training to less experienced staff.
  • Use skills to resolve conflicting design requirements.
  • Provide QA/QC review of deliverables.
  • Prepare reports and client correspondence on assigned projects.
  • Participate in marketing and sales efforts, including reviewing and developing engineering fees for proposals.
  • Support the Talent Acquisition process for hiring and onboarding new engineers.
  • Assist in developing Strategic Plan for Engineering and monitor progress towards goals and business objectives.
  • Participate in Discipline Leader, Leadership and Sales Meetings as well as Quarterly Operations Meeting.
  • Conduct quarterly conversations and contribute to annual reviews process.
  • Travel for client meetings, consultant coordination, site surveys, construction administration, etc. 15% of time reserved for travel.

Requirements

 Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering or applied science from an ABET accredited college or university.  
  • 15+ years in civil engineering, preferably with experience in land development, site design, and coastal engineering.  
  • Professional Engineering License (PE).  
  • Experience with Revit (or 3D modeling), scheduling software, specification software, and standard business software (MSOffice, Adobe suite, Google Docs).  
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a specific field of engineering.  
  • Continuing education relevant for position.
