The Accounts and Taxation Officer is responsible for managing daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with local tax laws, and preparing accurate financial reports. The role involves handling accounts payable/receivable, reconciling accounts, preparing tax filings, and supporting audits.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system.
Prepare journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations for monthly and yearly closing.
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
Monitor bank transactions and prepare bank reconciliations.
Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of VAT/GST, withholding tax, corporate tax returns, and other statutory submissions.
Maintain compliance with local and international tax regulations.
Liaise with tax consultants and government authorities as needed.
Review contracts and transactions to assess tax implications.
Keep updated with changes in tax laws and regulations.
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is a plus.
25 years of relevant experience in accounting and taxation.
Strong knowledge of financial and tax regulations.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Tally, Oracle).
Advanced MS Excel skills.
