THE ROLE

As a key member of our team, you'll have a significant impact on shaping the direction of the company and product. You will manage Unit features from design to deployment, solve complex issues, and collaborate with different teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement enterprise-grade backend services which can handle Unit’s scale and use cases.
Own and develop Unit features end-to-end - from design, through implementation, testing and deployment.
Solve diverse, complex problems at a large scale distributed microservices environment
Interact with various teams across Unit and work together to deliver ground breaking features in the fields of Banking, Payments, Cards and Lending.
Develop solutions for developers, with a strong emphasis on performance and quality.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

5+ years of backend web development experience, in a microservice environment
Comfortable building APIs and systems that serve real frontend use cases
Strong understanding of how data flows from client to server and back — you enjoy collaborating with frontend developers and thinking through end-to-end product flows
Hands-on experience with building, deploying and maintaining testable, scalable systems in a cloud environment
Good understanding of critical production systems concepts - high availability, reliability, and scalability
Experience with Express.js
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS)
Experience with CI/CD
Experience with Scala - advantage
