Job description

Are you a systems thinker with a passion for simplifying complexity? Do you thrive when streamlining data flows, integrating platforms, and helping organizations grow through better use of data? If so, you might be the ideal fit for this role!

What can you expect?

Preferred by Nature is looking for a Data Systems Engineer to lead the transformation of our Salesforce and data architecture. This role will focus on streamlining our current systems, improving data integrity, and enabling better integration between platforms such as Salesforce, Financial Force, SharePoint, and Excel-based tools. You will help shape a more efficient, user-friendly, and scalable data environment that supports decision-making across the organization.

You will play a key role in redesigning our data structure, aligning our digital systems, and ensuring data governance standards are in place. Working closely with technical and non-technical colleagues across teams, you will guide the transition to a cleaner, future-ready architecture while ensuring tools and processes are clearly documented, accessible, and easy to adopt across departments.

Working with us is never routine so the first year you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.

  • Review the current Salesforce setup and identify inefficiencies, pain points, and improvement areas.
  • Design and implement a cleaner, scalable data architecture for Salesforce and its integrations.
  • Streamline connections between Salesforce, Financial Force, SharePoint, and Excel-based tools.
  • Establish clear data governance standards including naming conventions and documentation guidelines.
  • Set up monitoring systems to track data quality and flow across platforms.
  • Collaborate with teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Deliver staff training and develop user-friendly documentation to ensure adoption of new systems.
  • Support ongoing initiatives to improve automation, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

Your first year with us:

Within three months, you will:

  • Develop a strong understanding of Preferred by Nature’s data ecosystem, tools, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct a full audit of the current Salesforce structure and related data flows.
  • Propose an initial roadmap for improvement and align it with internal priorities.

Within six months, you will:

  • Begin the implementation of redesigned data structures and integrations.
  • Roll out internal training and onboarding materials for key system users.
  • Introduce initial monitoring and validation tools to track system health and data integrity.

Within twelve months, you will:

  • Complete the rollout of new architecture and integration processes.
  • Document workflows, governance protocols, and system blueprints.
  • Lead additional initiatives to improve cross-platform data use and scalability.

Important that you:

  • Have a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have hands-on experience redesigning Salesforce (or similar CRM platforms) and integrating systems.
  • Are experienced in data architecture, systems integration, and simplifying complex structures.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Are practical, independent, and highly collaborative in your work style.
  • Have strong skills in planning, documentation, and managing system transitions.
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
  • Have working knowledge of English.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!

  • Global work culture
  • Remote and flexible work environment (work from home)
  • An in-depth onboarding and professional training that prepares you with the right skills and knowledge to thrive in this role
