Altus Group is seeking an Innovation Concept Manager to support early-stage product ideation, validation, and feasibility/viability assessments for analytics-driven solutions within the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) market. You’ll lead structured workshops, collaborate cross-functionally, and apply Lean Inception and Agile methodologies to transform ideas into actionable, testable, and scalable concepts aligned to business and market opportunities. Success in this role means turning high-potential ideas into validated, market-aligned product concepts that gain internal buy-in and investment in commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:

Concept Development & Validation

  • As an Innovation Concept Manager at Altus, you will be part of a team dedicated to developing and validating new analytics-driven concepts through structured methodologies and customer research.

  • Activities: Identify and validate analytics-driven concepts, test hypotheses, and assess feasibility/viability for the CRE market.

  • Outputs: Documented concepts, feasibility/viability analyses, and validated business cases.

  • Outcomes: Stronger alignment with market needs and reduced risk in product development through early validation of concepts.

Execution & Collaboration

  • Activity: Lead structured workshops, drive feasibility/viability validation, and work with technical teams for Agile concept development and testing.

  • Output: MVP roadmaps, prioritized backlogs, and documented stakeholder alignment.

  • Outcomes: Faster iteration, reduced roadmap uncertainty, and improved cross-functional collaboration.

Early-Stage UX & Design Thinking

  • Activities: Design workflows and create low-fidelity wireframes that balance usability, feasibility, and business value.

  • Outputs: Visualized user journeys and usability testing artifacts.

  • Outcomes: Increased user adoption confidence and minimized large-scale redesign.

Stakeholder Communication & Alignment

  • Activities: Secure internal alignment, leadership endorsement, and funding for concept development; present findings and maintain ongoing stakeholder engagement.

  • Outputs: Project update presentations, concept progress/status updates.

  • Outcomes: Increased visibility and sustained stakeholder and executive buy-in.

Customer & Market Feedback

  • Activities: Conduct customer and stakeholder feedback sessions, validate concepts, and refine iterations. Collaborate with business and product teams to ensure findings drive further investment decisions.

  • Outputs: Customer feedback analysis and data-backed iteration plans.

  • Outcomes: Increased product-market fit and improved iteration cycles based on real-world validation.

Key Qualifications:

  • A Facilitator & Leader: Skilled at guiding teams and aligning stakeholders through Lean Inception, Agile, or similar methodologies.

  • A Product Thinker: Expertise in refining early-stage concepts and defining MVPs by breaking down complex ideas to balance business value, technical feasibility, and user needs.

  • A Customer-Centric Researcher: Strong background in qualitative research, customer interviews, and product validation to ensure product ideas are data-backed and market-aligned.

  • User-Focused: Experience with early-stage wireframing and usability testing.

  • A Strong Communicator: Able to present complex concepts to executives, business teams, and developers to drive decisions and action.

  • An Analytical & Strategic Decision-Maker: Strong problem-solving skills for evaluating feasibility, usability, and business value to make data-informed recommendations in ambiguous environments.

  • An Adaptable Innovator: Comfortable iterating quickly and strategically adjusting direction based on new insights.

  • 5+ years in product innovation, concept development, or early-stage product management.

  • Hands-on experience with Lean Inception, Design Thinking, or structured innovation methodologies.

  • Familiarity with Agile workflows, backlog management, and working with development teams.

  • Experience with Commercial Real Estate (CRE) workflows, challenges, and decision-making is a plus.

  • Understanding of data and analytics-driven products, AI/ML applications, and their impact on CRE is a plus.
