Reports to: Executive Director, HR – EMEA 

Travel Required: 40%+ travel required to various UK&I sites.  

Travel to U.S. on occasion.  

 

This position is responsible for HR resource management and execution, together with strategic advisory support for local and US executive decision makers, across the Collins SBUs in UK&I; to include strategies regarding engagement, employee and leader development, retention, human resources service delivery and optimization/efficiency, and strategic long range workforce planning support and feedback. This role is responsible for ensuring these HR strategies are effectively implemented to support each of the business portfolios, covering ~4,000 employees, across the countries 

 

In this role you will… 

  • Own the execution of long-term HR strategy and operational HR resource management and direction for Collins UK & Ireland.  

  • Be seen as the leader of the HR team in country by facilitating discussions relevant to country level strategy, be an escalation point in country for the team and drive/support HR projects relevant to the country as a whole 

  • Coach and guide Business Unit and Value Stream Leaders on how to drive necessary and difficult HR changes focused on improving business performance. 

  • Alert business management on potential legal risks relating to employment matters and works with appropriate HR professionals to give advice on approach to minimize risk. 

  • Develop strategies focused on increasing human resources efficiency and deploy continuous improvement methodologies (CORE) to continually improve the effectiveness of the HR function.   

  • Demonstrate strong partnership with key global stakeholders, including but not limited to People Services, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent Management and Employee and Labour Relations.  

  • Lead and provide strategic direction to a team of HR Professionals both on a direct and indirect basis. You will drive strong development practices within this team and work proactively to ensure a robust HR talent pool.  

  • Advocate “One Collins/RTX” culture and values by driving in country alignment among different sites with an enterprise-wide leadership mindset.  

 

You will bring to this role:  

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in HR, Business or a similar field and relevant HR experience.  

  • Proven track record of strong leadership building high performance teams with a culture of accountability and customer service excellence.  

  • Experience working in a heavily matrixed environment with a centres of excellences and shared services.  

  • Proven track record in managing large scale transformative initiatives, complex people issues, organizational change, and strategic workforce planning. 

  • Demonstrated ability to create credibility and effectively formulate and deliver business strategy in partnership with management. 

  • Ability to anticipate key stakeholder issues and develop clear action plans and communication strategies for change management. 

  • Advanced knowledge of local labour laws and obligations, with the ability to advise management and mitigate legal and other business risks. 

  • Strong understanding of employee engagement factors and ability to link engagement with business performance. 

  • Knowledge of compensation and benefits management, including equal pay and value principles. 

  • Familiarity with HR tools, systems, and data analytics for workforce planning and decision-making. 

  • Based in the UK or Ireland and able to travel across the UK&I (~40%+) with some travel to Europe and U.S.
