Job description

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness they’re likely to die from.

We want a different society than the one we live in now. Our mission for the next five years is to close the gap in the number of people missing out on what they need at the end-of-life, through 3 ways:

  • Growing and transforming our direct care and support
  • Delivering more practical information and support
  • Leading in shaping the end-of-life experience

Your role in our mission…..

This key role plays an integral part in driving the success of the Mass Fundraising team by delivering flagship campaigns like the Great Daffodil Appeal, Christmas, and other special initiatives. As part of a dynamic team of over 40 fundraisers, you’ll contribute to raising an impressive £60 million annually for Marie Curie.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of campaign plans aligned with strategic goals, ensuring income generation and target achievement.
  • Take ownership of specific campaign elements, including communications planning, material development, and performance monitoring, using audience insights to maximise participation and income.
  • Serve as the go-to point of contact within the charity for all campaign-related matters, providing guidance, briefing documents, and support to cross-functional teams while resolving any issues that arise.
  • Monitor and report on performance across channels, maintaining accurate records of income, expenditure, and KPIs to ensure campaign goals are met.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure smooth processes for supporter inquiries, registration, fundraising support, banking, and thanks.
  • Work with the Individual Giving Lead to craft an exceptional experience for new supporters, driving retention through compelling supporter journeys.
  • Contribute to campaign evaluations, analysing the efficiency of marketing channels and overall engagement.

Skills and experience:

  • Creative approach to problem solving
  • Proactive in using initiative and working independently
  • Strong organisational, multi-tasking and administrative skills
  • Robust, confident ‘can do’ attitude that thrives on challenges and calm under pressure
  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Good communication skills
  • IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and database
  • Skills in reporting and analysis of data
