A successful HR/Payroll Specialist at Wurk will act as a HR trusted advisor for our multi-state clients. This role will also help our Managed Service clients on the implementation of tactical HR processes and technology and will support our growing customer base as well as their employees by processing payroll from start to finish and validating employee data. In this position, you will make employee and client level changes, learn and document the unique processing rules for your portfolio of clients, and provide excellent customer service. The perfect candidate will identify new opportunities to drive growth and build upon the Wurk brand.

What you’ll need to accomplish!

  • Provide HR advising to our multi state clients regarding HR policies and procedures
  • Offer HR guidance and best practices including recruitment/retention, employee relations, leaves, performance, training/development, compensation, HRIS, labor laws, and legal compliance, etc.
  • Advise clients on the creation and administration of human resources policies, procedures, and handbooks
  • Ensure HR programs and services are in compliance with established policies and procedures and state and federal laws and regulations
  • Conducting audits of HR activities to ensure compliance
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Learn Wurk’s Managed Services platform, start to build a relationship with clients and begin to process simple payrolls and document payroll notes
  • Own a portfolio of clients and start to learn about Account Management, client retention, and engagement
  • Be responsible for the satisfaction and retention of clients currently under the Managed Services platform
  • Manage client payrolls and ensure on-time and accurate processing
  • Provide ongoing and employee support via phone and email regarding payroll and the Wurk Technology
  • Assist with internal and external project management as needed
  • Perform other duties

What you’ll need to have!

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant HR experience
  • 2-4 years of human resources experience
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience
  • 2+ years of HRIS experience (UKG Workforce Ready preferred)
  • Problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment and labor laws

    This position's approximate base salary range is $55,000-$70,000 based on candidate's experience, education, and geographic location.
