Job description

Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) – Oncology/Hematology

The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) role is charged with engaging and working closely with U.S External Experts (EEs) and Regional/Local Influential Physicians in Oncology or Hematology focused therapeutic areas in which GSK has disease area interests.  The role partners with marketing brand teams and sales leadership.  The TLL will follow marketing policies and maintain appropriate coordination with medical, compliance, legal and regulatory guidelines. This position is a field based/remote role that has 60-80% travel, focusing on western section of the US. Ideal locations for hires will be in the western half of the US and in close proximity to a major airport.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coordinate and plan GSK marketing engagement with US based External Experts (EEs). This includes building and maintaining of effective working relationships with EEs in the disease area of interest
  • Manage and coordinate EE executive encounters with commercial leaders including sales, marketing and business unit leaders. 
  • Manage speakers bureau in coordination with brand team(s).
  • Coordinate EE relationships related to Peer-to-Peer education as directed by marketing leadership. 
  • Coordinate EE engagements for Oncology Business Unit advisory boards to support collection of relevant external insights
  • Insight Generation: Engage with EEs to gather commercial insights and share back with marketing team and field leadership as appropriate, and document engagements and insights / advice gathered
  • Attend national, regional and local congresses to understand EE sentiment and gather insights from relevant disease area presentations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree. 
  • 8+ years of work experience in one or more of the following: field sales, product marketing, or medical / clinical experience in the same or related therapeutic area within the pharmaceutical / biotech industry
  • 5+ years Oncology experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel ~ 60% - 80% to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Hematology and/or advanced Oncology experience
  • Strong Account Management skills and experience
  • Marketing and/or sales management experience
  • Ability to assemble and lead cross-functional teams toward a shared vision of success
  • Ability to deliver agreed objectives under tight timelines
  • Understanding and experience working across an organization to engage effectively with HCPs
  • Ability to present ideas effectively to individuals or groups, targeting presentation to the needs of the audience
  • Strong project management experience, including superior analytical and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated strong orientation to ethics and compliance

The annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $142,500 to $237,500 taking into account a number of factors including work location within the US market, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role. Available benefits include health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
