Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Regional Boat Operations Support Manager provides comprehensive operational support for multiple Tracker Marine Boat Center (TMBC) dealerships within Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, and freestanding locations. This position will primarily support TMBC Freestanding Dealerships across the Midwest and South, while also providing retail support to Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s locations in Canada and Alaska. The ideal candidate will reside within these regions, have convenient access to airport travel, and be strategically positioned for effective regional support. They will be responsible for focusing on outfitter development and customer service while ensuring company standards and expectations are being met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Delivers world class customer service by fostering a culture that promotes a positive and productive experience for all customers and outfitters. Resolves customer and outfitter concerns to a positive outcome promptly and consistently.

  • Meets or exceeds all Sales and Financial plans as set by the Company. Keeps senior management apprised of current market and dealership concerns as they occur or as requested.

  • Conducts regularly scheduled visits to TMBC locations supporting operational execution and provides summary of visits to store and TMBC Senior Management.

  • Prepares for and participates in calls/meetings to manage and/or implement programs, to ensure location awareness of all promotional campaigns and display expectations, or policy updates. Will also participate in special events such as Boat Shows, Open Houses, offsite events, etc.

  • Monitors, reports and addresses significant issues with Ops Support and Internal Audit Reviews.

  • Reports findings of product quality concerns to appropriate members of WRMG Warranty and Customer Service Teams and assists with their resolution.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws. Conducts interviews, hires, trains, plans, assigns, and directs work. Measures and evaluates performance, rewards and disciplines associates. Addresses complaints and resolving problems.

  • Assists with the administration of training programs for new and existing outfitters, including: new stores, new hires for existing stores, cross training and succession planning.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required:  High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience: 5 years in Boating Industry Retail and/or Wholesale Management, preferably with TMBC or WRMG.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Strong math aptitude to be able to calculate figures and amounts and to interpret a variety of financial, legal and technical information

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, in a friendly and professional manner establishing effective working relationships with vendors, customers, co-workers and Base Camp Team members

  • Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time

  • Demonstrate a positive leadership style while communicating to outfitters and managers while encouraging feedback for company improvement

  • Demonstrates use of team concept of management

  • Possess strong sales and sales training abilities

  • Ability to perform and train others on the use of various computer applications

  • Proficiency with MS Office, database management and electronic point of sale and inventory management systems

  • Must have and maintain a company approved driving record.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 60% travel required. This role supports TMBC Freestanding Dealerships across the Midwest and South, with retail support for Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s locations in Canada and Alaska. Candidates should reside within these regions, have convenient airport access, and be positioned for effective regional support.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular computer work, and sitting

  • Occasional walking, standing, and lifting

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
