About This Position
The Manager, Advanced Monitoring & Automation will lead the strategic direction, development, implementation and maintenance of monitoring, automation, and analytics systems critical to the operation of our renewable energy assets. This role focuses on ensuring system reliability, driving performance optimization through data automation, real-time monitoring, and in-depth system analysis. This role will work closely with the Performance Engineering team and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Site Operations, Asset Management, Compliance, and Trading.
Overview of Department
The current operations team consists of Operations, Asset Management, and Compliance professionals with over 4GW of operational experience. The Operations team works closely with the Development and Construction teams to bring Intersect Power’s pipeline from concept to operations remaining involved throughout the project lifecycle. The Intersect Power operations team is expanding to support the growing fleet moving into operations over in the near term.
Responsibilities and DutiesDevelop and execute a long-term strategy for advanced monitoring, automation, and analytics solutions for Solar, BESS and Wind assets.Optimize SCADA systems, driving automation of data collection, reporting, and operational workflows.Lead the evaluation, deployment, and integration of new technologies within existing workflows, ensuring they align with strategic goals and provide long-term value.Collaborate with SCADA and Performance Engineers to ensure proper operation and maintenance of digital and automation assets.Provide strategic performance updates on automation and robotics roadmap and reports to stakeholders, including executives.Mentor and support team members and peers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in monitoring and automation practices.Qualifications and SkillsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.Master in System Engineering preferred.5+ years of experience in renewable energy performance engineering, SCADA, or automation.Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools.Strong knowledge of SCADA, PV, and BESS systems.Proven ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives related to monitoring and automation.Experience with CAISO or ERCOT markets preferred.
