Position Summary
Responsible for the technical support, selling and marketing activities in the designated area, coordinating the activity with Distributor’s technical and sales force. Dairy Sales Manager’s main responsibility is to grow, develop, and implement account strategies to achieve sales growth and profitability within Italy Dairy and Small Ruminants sector; time to time supporting strategical activity on other species as swine or poultry.
This is a full-time position, reporting to the Country Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities. This position will work from a home-based office.
Essential Functions
- Lead a coordinated strategic approach and local activities in dairy/ruminants with support of Marketing and Research & Nutritional Services.
- Led field trials projects within distributor and customers.
- Grow sales through enhanced customer relationships and technical knowledge about products within the supported industry.
- Enhanced Zinpro footprint and visibility in Italy identifying Dairy commercial and technical events.
- Achieve sales goals and objectives within the established budget/target.
- Promote Zinpro products and offer technical sales support to current/potential customers and key influencers to develop strong long-term customer relations.
- Fully support and grow the service and support to customers within identified species and priorities.
- Identify new product and market opportunities
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or related field.
- Five or more years of related experience in livestock supply business.
- Expertise in Ruminants nutrition.
- Experience managing a network of customers and supporting their needs.
- Experience in technical sales and marketing activities in the animal nutrition and production industries.
- Extensive experience and judgment required to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of technical and practical tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Experience and understanding of mid-sized company culture, dairy farms management.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office, feed formulation programs (as NDS), using the Internet.
- Ability to present and communicate complex technical knowledge.
- Fluent in English; reading, writing, speaking.
- Ability to interact and communicate with individuals within an organization at all levels internally and externally.
Preferred:
- MSc, Veterinary degree in Animal Nutrition preferred.
- Ability to communicate in English and Italian
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The work environment consists of a multiple different environments: standard office, long periods in a motor vehicle, farms, animal producers, manufacturing facilities, and/or at client/customers facilities.
Positions in this class typically require typing, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Schedule Requirements
This position is expected to work within core business hours and requires participation in after-hours and weekend calls, customer/client events & meetings, and industry events.
Travel Requirements
Expected to travel as needed, according to company standards. Required travel is primarily within Italy but will include occasional other international travel to attend external and internal meetings and conferences. Business travel is approximately 50% or more of work time, mainly locally.
