The salary range for this job posting is $121,868.00 - $194,990.00 annually + bonus + benefits. Pay Type: Salary

This role will report to the Senior Vice President, Agency Operations and Marketing. The ideal candidate will reside near a major metropolitan area such as IL, OH, PA or NC, but will consider home-based candidates who reside within our payroll footprint as seen on our careers page.

The National Relationship Manager is responsible for the oversight and performance of strategically assigned regional homogeneous agencies, national broker partners, or aggregated agency groups appointed with Encova. This position is responsible for generating profitable growth by cultivating the partnership between all levels of management and staff for Encova and the assigned agency / broker partner across our mutual footprint.  The National Relationship Manager is responsible for identifying business opportunities including but not limited to agency market consolidation efforts, book roll opportunities, L.O.B strategies including broad workers’ compensation appetite, industry verticals aligning with Encova product offerings, consistently monitoring and communicating actual performance vs goals, having intimate knowledge of changes within assigned relationships and the resulting business opportunities or risks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • The National Relationship Manager is required to maintain an in-depth understanding and effectively navigate the organizational structure for each assigned agency / broker partner (s) including Regional, State, & Branch leadership, as well as key individual contributors from the Production, Marketing / Placement, Account Service, and Industry verticals of the organization. 
  • Attend national and regional meetings with their assigned agency / broker partner (s) and work with our local Encova leadership, agency managers and business teams to build strong partnerships with key agency individuals and identify business opportunities within the agency to foster profitable growth.
  • Coordinates & conducts annual business planning sessions with leadership from their agency partner (s) and appropriate Encova leadership team.  This includes but is not limited to the following:
  • Detailed analysis on the book of business & submission pipeline by region, state, office, and Encova profit center- highlighting areas of success to emulate and opportunities for improvement including but not limited to profitability, submission activity, and premium production. Book roll opportunities or industry segments where we have alignment and need to strengthen the new business pipeline
  • Opportunities to improve automation between our organizations producing operational efficiencies
  • Provide quarterly updates to Encova leadership regarding their assigned agency / broker relationships including but not limited to actual profitability and growth performance vs annual plan, key structural, operational, and personnel changes, as well as key competitor information.
  • Work with the Encova Distribution Management Specialist and Encova business teams to qualify new locations and production sources within the parent organization

OTHER FUNCTIONS: 

·       Build strong relationships with Encova teammates to ensure execution on goals and business plans between the national partner and Encova

·       Periodic travel & entertainment including overnight stays to foster relationships within assigned national partner

·       Attend agency trade events as required- association meetings, insurance forums, etc.

·       Document key information and plans in CRM and other internal systems

·       Participate in annual agency reviews providing wholistic perspective on the relationship and gain local perspective from Encova teams

·       Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

·       A 8+ years of successful sales and relevant marketing experience is required.

·       Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university, preferred.

·       Underwriting experience is preferred, but not required.

·       Designation in an area of advanced insurance education (e.g. CPCU or CIC) is preferred.

·       Demonstrated proficiency in short and long-range planning, excellent written and oral communication skills.

·       Strong numeric reasoning, numeric ability, and problem solving skills.

·       Possess operational knowledge of independent agencies and brokers. 

·       Knowledge of Encova sales and underwriting processes in all lines, desired.

·       Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills required.

·       Ability to travel throughout the territory is required including overnight travel.
