Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director Business Development (Market Leader), the Business Development Analyst (Analyst) will engage in various business development activities, including health insurance research, health plan financial analytics, and business case development. This position supports Business Development Managers in the coordination, planning, execution, and completion of projects that develop markets and execute strategic business activities for the growth of Medicaid and all other AmeriHealth Caritas products, as assigned by the Market Leader.
Essential Functions
- Support Market Leaders and Managers in the development and execution of business development strategies for Medicaid and all other AmeriHealth Caritas products; completes various assigned projects (e.g., conduct market research and analysis, develop competitive analysis, support business case development, develop content for Enterprise Growth standard reports, develop sales materials and briefing books for external meetings and conferences, design and populate various databases and tools).
- Support Market Leaders and Managers in establishing and maintaining strategic stakeholder relationships, including but not limited to appropriate state and local government officials, C-level executives at hospital and health systems, ACOs, FQHCs, community behavioral health systems, public health departments, provider associations, coalitions, and community-based organizations.
- Maintain an ongoing understanding of the healthcare landscape and the market snapshots.
- Support various continuous improvement initiatives.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA, MPP, MHA, MPH preferred.
- 1 or more years of experience in health insurance research, health plan financial analytics, and business case development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with individuals effectively and confidently at all levels.
- Knowledge of Medicaid Managed Care, Medicare, and/or Qualified Health Plans (QHP/Exchange) preferred.
- Effective business writing skills and experience with producing clear and concise reports and summaries.
- Intermediate to expert level of experience in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Possibly required to travel 5% of the time.
