Your Role

As a Social Media Expert | Specialist, you will:

Content Creation & Strategy

  • Develop and execute engaging social media content tailored to Sunrise Local’s audience.
  • Create cheeky, fun, and community-driven posts featuring promotions, new products, and in-store events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align content with national campaigns and seasonal promotions.
  • Leverage user-generated content and local store moments to enhance engagement.

Community Engagement & Growth

  • Actively engage with customers, responding to comments, messages, and reviews.
  • Foster relationships with local influencers and community pages to boost visibility.
  • Encourage and manage customer participation in social media contests or promotions.

Analytics & Performance Tracking

  • Monitor social media performance using insights from Meta, Google Analytics, and other analytics tools.
  • Track engagement, reach, and conversions, providing reports with actionable recommendations.
  • A/B test content and posting strategies to optimize performance.

Collaboration & Trendspotting

  • Stay updated on social media trends, memes, and pop culture to keep content fresh.
  • Work closely with store owners to capture real-time content and local initiatives.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and partners for co-branded social media activations

What You Need

Non-negotiables

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Proven experience managing social media accounts for brands, preferably in retail or convenience store industries.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, algorithms, and best practices across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Experience with content creation, copywriting, and scheduling tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Canva, or Hootsuite).
  • Basic graphic design and video editing skills.
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Strong communication skills and a knack for engaging online audiences.
