We are seeking an Assistant General Counsel – Pharmacy Operations to provide strategic legal guidance and support for our expanding pharmacy operations. Key Responsibilities
Offer strategic legal advice to support Clarest Health’s institutional pharmacy operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives
Advise on federal and state laws and regulations applicable to federal healthcare programs and institutional pharmacy operations, including licensing, healthcare fraud, and privacy regulations (HIPAA)
Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret various contracts, including institutional pharmacy customer service and master service contracts , as well as vendor, supply, IT, real estate, and consulting agreements
Identify, assess, and communicate legal risks while offering practical solutions to mitigate potential issues
Analyze business initiatives, providing legal guidance on commercial terms and regulatory requirements
Support Compliance Function, provide legal guidance and assist in compliance investigations and remediations
Support dispute resolution and provide guidance on contract disputes, intellectual property concerns, and other legal proceedings
Stay informed on legal and regulatory changes affecting institutional pharmacy operations and healthcare compliance
Support the Chief Legal Officer with various legal projects as needed
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing
10 + years of experience in healthcare regulatory, compliance, and contract law
In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, including pharmacy compliance, fraud and abuse laws, and anti-kickback statutes
Strong experience in drafting and negotiating healthcare and business-related contracts
Expertise in healthcare risk management, state and federal pharmacy laws, and HIPAA/privacy regulations

Ability to assess complex legal issues and provide clear, practical solutions
Ability to align legal strategies with company goals and navigate complex business challenges
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts simply
