Overview

We are seeking a Senior Physical Security System Designer with expertise in developing physical security system designs for large-scale facilities such as data centers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electronic access controls, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems, as well as a strong understanding of security architecture commonly used in enterprise environments. This role focuses on system design and documentation rather than implementation or delivery.

This role operates within the GMT time zone, and candidates must be available to work within this schedule. Travel will be required 25-50%.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Analyze user requirements, concept of operations, and high-level system architectures to develop detailed system specifications.
  • Lead design activities and create system architecture and design documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership in integrating security requirements, design, and technology solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and advise stakeholders on innovative security system approaches.
  • Develop technical documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Ensure system requirements align with the defined security architecture and overall security strategy.
  • Assist in developing system requirements, functional requirements, and component-level specifications.
  • Participate in design and program reviews, providing expert recommendations on security system improvements.
  • Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
  • Contribute to work breakdown structures (WBS), work packages, and the integrated master schedule (IMS).
  • Maintain the technical integrity of security system designs and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in physical security system design for large-scale facilities such as data centers.
  • Expertise in designing electronic access control systems, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Strong understanding of security principles, risk management, and mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security solutions and large security system deployments.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex security concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Effective collaboration skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other security design software.
  • Strong presentation and report-writing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale security projects.
