Job description

The target hiring range for this position is $75k-$81k.

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Manager, Funding Management is the administration and supervision of the Funding Management function, including but not limited to, management of all advisors, senior advisors, and supervisors in the application and delivery of funds and services to new and current learners. The incumbent is responsible for the timely delivery of services to learners, training, onboarding, and daily operations in packaging and maintaining customer service to learners of the College. This position maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding student aid programs. The Manager, Funding Management ensures the function maintains the integrity of the funding process in order to contribute to the successful completion of the program.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Director, Funding Management to ensure day to day operations and expectations are being met.
  • Responsible for mentoring, coaching, and managing 5 to 8 collaborators.
  • Accurately develops and coordinates the delivery of Federal Student Aid (FSA) and the maintenance of FSA records.
  • Seeks opportunities to influence, build effective relationships and gain alignment with peers, functional partners, and/or external partners to accomplish functional objectives.
  • Coordinates financial aid operations with other College functions to support successful funding, enrollment, and completion.
  • Manages the resolution of areas identified for development and improvement and initiates corrective action as appropriate.
  • Maintain knowledge of existing and new FSA policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Researches, analyzes, develops, and recommends departmental processes and procedures to increase and improve operational efficiency to ensure proper controls and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains and develops all training manuals and training resources and provides training and ongoing development of collaborators in the function.
  • Participates and facilitates biweekly Learner Funding meetings including 1:1s, coaching meetings, and team meetings.
  • Interviews potential collaborators for organizational and functional alignment along with Director, Funding Management.
  • Participates in development activities designated by the College in pursuit of personal and professional elevation.
  • Participates in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required, some post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in an institution of higher learning processing student funding.
  • Minimum of three year's experience as a people leader.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Federal Student Aid and/or military funding.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.

All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will pay for travel and lodging accommodations.
