Job description

Inventory Planning & Forecasting

  • Develop and execute inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels across e-commerce, social commerce, and retail channels.
  • Analyze historical sales data and trends to create accurate demand forecasts.
  • Implement best practices for reducing stockouts, overstocking, and aged inventory.
  • Coordinate closely with Marketplace Operations and Marketing teams to anticipate promotional impacts on inventory needs.

Supply Chain & Vendor Coordination

  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely procurement and delivery of goods.
  • Manage purchase orders, vendor relationships, and lead time optimizations.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to delays, shortages, or quality issues.
  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics to ensure efficient warehouse operations.

Inventory Accuracy & Optimization

  • Implement best practices for warehouse inventory control and cycle counts.
  • Utilize inventory management software and analytics to maintain real-time tracking of stock levels.
  • Develop strategies for SKU rationalization, cost reduction, and inventory turnover improvement.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between actual and recorded inventory.

E-Commerce & Retail Fulfillment Coordination

  • Ensure inventory availability for Amazon FBA, TikTok Shop, and other online marketplaces.
  • Monitor and manage warehouse operations, 3PL partners, and fulfillment centers.
  • Optimize inventory allocation across different sales channels based on performance and demand.
  • Work with operations teams to streamline fulfillment processes and reduce shipping delays.

Reporting & Performance Analysis

  • Generate and analyze inventory reports, tracking KPIs such as turnover rates, stock accuracy, and fulfillment efficiency.
  • Provide actionable insights to leadership on inventory trends and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop inventory SOPs to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain operations, and logistics
  • With at least 2 years of experience working specifically with Amazon FBA.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing inventory levels, optimizing supply chain processes, and working within e-commerce platforms, especially Amazon Seller Central.
  • Amazon FBA Reimbursement experience a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Amazon FBA, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and performance optimization.
  • Strong understanding of Amazon's inventory management tools, reporting dashboards, and reconciliation processes.
  • Expertise in Excel and other data analysis tools for managing inventory, forecasting demand, and tracking supply chain performance.

Supply Chain and Logistics Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, including demand forecasting, procurement, shipping logistics, and warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of international shipping and import/export regulations related to Amazon FBA, especially if managing global inventory.
  • Ability to manage and optimize third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships and fulfillment processes.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Strong ability to analyze inventory levels, sales trends, and supply chain data to identify areas for optimization and cost reduction.
  • Ability to quickly identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, stockouts, or overstock issues.
  • Experience in implementing process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Project Management:

  • Proven experience managing multiple inventory-related projects simultaneously, ensuring timely execution and adherence to deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced, e-commerce-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and third-party logistics partners.
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments, including sales, marketing, and customer service, to align inventory and supply chain strategies with overall business goals.

Knowledge of E-commerce Best Practices:

  • Familiarity with e-commerce trends, Amazon policies, and best practices for managing inventory in an online marketplace.
  • Understanding of Amazon’s performance metrics related to FBA, such as inventory health, stranded inventory, and storage limits.

Detail-Oriented and Proactive:

  • High attention to detail in managing inventory data, order processing, and reporting.
  • Proactive in identifying potential inventory issues and taking steps to mitigate risks before they impact business operations.

Vendor and Supplier Management:

  • Experience in managing relationships with suppliers, negotiating, and ensuring timely delivery of inventory.
  • Ability to assess vendor performance, ensure quality control, and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships
