Summary

 

 

The Financial Reporting Analyst provides scheduled and ad-hoc financial reports, data maintenance and analysis, and dashboard solutions to Finance Department personnel and other designated staff. The Financial Reporting Analyst will also provide general support with day-to-day finance operations, business processes and related technology improvements.

 

 

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and analyses using the Aderant financial system, Excel pivot tables, Power BI, and SSRS reports, verifying that values in all reports are accurate by checking against other sources and considering reasonableness.
  • Balance all system accounts daily, verifying that values in all Aderant modules and dashboards are accurate by checking against other sources and considering reasonableness.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in financial data and perform necessary adjustments. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Work with end users to provide ad-hoc data analysis and client-facing reports in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance and the Chief Financial Officer to evaluate the profitability of matters, clients, and practice groups.
  • Work with finance team, attorneys and staff managers to design annual budgets and assist with pricing and profitability projections.
  • Provide reporting and analysis support for Finance Department personnel, including billing, eBilling, pricing, accounts payable, general ledger, and trust. Analyze results, including budget variance analysis, profitability analysis, and cost analysis.
  • Continuously assess and improve financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting, as well as automate processes that are currently performed manually.
  • Assist with data import and validation for Finance department.
  • Assist with data validation for financial systems upgrades/enhancements/projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Required Skills/Abilities

 

  • Expert level skills in Microsoft Excel, including, but not limited to pivot tables and v/x lookups
  • SQL programming experience in a Microsoft SQL Server environment, including creating stored procedures - preferred
  • Ability to identify ways to solve problems, improve processes and improve efficiencies
  • Experience with Aderant

This is a fully remote position available to residents of the following states: CO, AZ, FL, GA, KS, MN, MT, NC, SC, OK, and WY. 

 

 

 

Work Environment

 

This job operates in a remote environment. Because this position will be handling client information, employees must work from a home office and not a public location. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and printers.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

 

This is an exempt position and will need to be available during the core business hours of M-F 8-5 MST via email, Teams, and phone, with some flexibility in hours due to location.  The employee will be required to be at the office at the discretion of the manager. 

 

 

 

Required Education and Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field. 

 

Two to four years of experience in financial or data analysis.

 

 

 

 

 

Preferred Education and Experience

 

Law firm or other professional services firm experience.
