Job description

We are looking for a Chief Business Officer focusing on the Africa region with strong BD experiences gained in Payment, Fintech or Financial Institutions. The CBO will represent the firm with potential business partners. He/She would be responsible for creating connections and meaningful relationships with key industry leaders, onboard contributors and deepening existing stakeholders engagement with the product/platform. This role reports to CEO / equivalent.

Location: Nigeria/ Kenya / Ghana

Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Lead and execute all commercial and business development activities

  • Identify and attract potential partners, building a relevant network, including but not limited to, VibraWallet Merchants, VibraPay business partners, fintech association, crypto/blockchain communities, government, etc.

  • Manage, handle and negotiate with business partners; government and financial Institutions relationship management

  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs; Find opportunities for africa region expansion and partnerships, as well as strategic partnerships responsible for the sustained growth of the organization

  • Other business development related matters

Communication

  • Support Vibras PR/industry events and serve as the companys spokesperson - Responsible for setting up public appearances - e.g. attend conferences/ industry events related to fintech/blockchain and appear for media interviews

  • Develop and execute activities that promote, enhance, and project the organizations vision, brand and reputation to external stakeholders; handling conflicts when necessary

  • In order to convincingly assure others, he/she must be aware of the companys policies, strategies and know what stand to take so that a positive public image of his/her organisation is maintained

  • Maintain an expert level of understanding of the platform and products so as to provide knowledgeable support to top; clients and potential partners both externally and internally

Requirements:

  • 5 years+ Extensive business development and commercial experience in Financial Institutions ( Payment, Fintech, Financial Institutions or Technology Company )
  • Master/Bachelor's degree in business, finance related field from top university
  • Fluency in French - is a plus
  • Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with top tier medias and successfully positioning subject matter to achieve high-impact placements that enhance corporate brand and reputations
  • Background in Crypto/Blockchain and large global financial services/tech environments is a plus; Understanding of blockchain technologies and DeFi
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to work remotely with a global team, autonomously and take initiatives
  • Comfortable in a startup, rapid-growth environment
