Job Purpose:

This position requires in depth-knowledge of Leave of Absence, Disability, Health and Welfare and/or retirement plans. This position deals with a wide range of confidential information and needs to ensure compliance with our corporate privacy policies.

Provide quality employee services to all TruStage employees (active, retired, and separated) in support of our HR service-oriented mission related to the company’s employee benefits plan. Under the general direction of the HR Service Center Manager, this position will be responsible for Disability and Absence Management vendor relationship, coordination of the leave of absence process, employment accommodation, workers’ compensation processing, project management, and various record keeping/information management. Responsible for maintaining data integrity of employee benefit information, as well as coordinating system changes when there is a change to a plan.

Job Responsibilities:
 

  • In partnership with legal counsel and HR leadership, ensure all aspects of leave of absence, disability and accommodation are in compliance with federal, state and local law.
  • Coordinate and oversee internal aspects of day to day leave of absence administration, ADA accommodation and workers’ compensation claim processing, including technical guidance for and training of the HR Service Center team.
  • Facilitate interactive conversations and provide counsel to employees, managers and HR staff regarding employment accommodation and corporate return to work programs.
  • Analyze, evaluate, create and recommend changes for leave of absence and disability benefits in HR practices, policies, systems and procedures to promote an effective and positive employee experience.
  • Manage a wide range of confidential information and ensure compliance with our corporate privacy policies.
  • Develop and promote employee/management awareness of employee benefits, ADA, FMLA, and corporate philosophy on stay at work and return to work processes.
  • Participate in benefit related project management or facilitation as needed (i.e. annual enrollment, etc.).

Their talents are devoted to a particular business focus and they provide guidance, technical leadership, and training to less experienced staff. Develops and implements solutions that align with key business strategies and initiatives.

Job Requirements:

List of general education, background and experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities typically required to effectively perform the responsibilities of the job. Also include any required licenses and/or designations.
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4-6 years’ progressive work experience in leave of absence management and/or disability management.
  • Proven experience providing coaching, mentoring, and feedback to other staff members.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated skills in building customer relationships by making efforts to listen and understand the customer; anticipating and providing solutions to customer needs; giving high priority to customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to express ideas, recommendations, and decisions to individuals and groups verbally and in writing.
  • Proven attention to detail, analysis skills, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of core office automation software, i.e. Excel, word processing, attendance system, proficiency with the web, and benefits/payroll system software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical/disability claims, employee benefits administration, call center operations or employee relations experience
  • Experience working with an absence management and/or disability benefit administrator
  • Experience and comfort working with employees of all levels, including senior executives and union employees
  • Central Time Zone preferred, but Eastern or Mountain will be considered

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

 

Base Salary Range:

$62,000.00 - $93,000.00
