BS degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemistry or a related field., Minimum two years of hands-on experience in shot peening processes, preferably in the Aerospace Industry., Field auditing experience is preferred, especially in the Aerospace sector., Familiarity with SAE, AMS, and Prime Contractor Shot Peening specifications, as well as General Quality Systems requirements like AS9100 and ISO 9001..

Key responsabilities:

Conduct audits of shot peening processes to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Travel domestically and internationally to perform audits as needed.

Network with industry professionals and stay updated on technological advancements.

Provide reports and feedback based on audit findings to improve quality systems.

The Performance Review Institute (PRI) is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the USA, with offices in London, UK to serve Europe and in Beijing, China and Aichi, Japan serving the Asia-Pacific region. PRI was originally set up to administer Nadcap – the industry-managed special process and product accreditation program for the aerospace and defense industries. Nadcap was developed by Government and Industry to continually improve quality while reducing costs. In 1995 we established PRI Registrar, a management systems registrar which provides international third-party certifications to standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100 and ISO 14001, among others. In 2007, responding to customer demand, we established eQuaLearn, a special process and quality training program and eQuaLified, an industry managed special process personnel qualification program. More recently, we have applied the Nadcap model to other industries where safety and quality are shared values, focusing on medical device manufacturing through the MedAccred program, and the transportation and power generation industries through the TPG program.

Job description

Overview:

This Surface Enhancement Auditor position is an excellent opportunity for recent retirees or consultants that have experience in some of these shot peening processes: Automated Shot Peening, Computer Controlled Shot Peening, Flapper or Rotary Flap Peening, Peen Forming, or Manual Shot Peening.

Qualifications:

The ideal auditor candidate will possess most of the following criteria:

BS degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemistry or Related Field
Minimum two (2) years of "hands on" experience (preferably in the Aerospace Industry) with one or more of the following Shot Peening processes: Automated Shot Peening, Computer Controlled Shot Peening, Flapper or Rotary Flap Peening, Peen Forming, or Manual Shot Peening.
Field auditing experience (Aerospace Industry Preferred)
Understanding of SAE, AMS and Prime Contractor Shot Peening specifications
Understanding of General Quality Systems requirements (AS9100, ISO 9001)
