Job description

About the role:

We are an AI-driven startup pioneering the development of a universal foundation model for biology. Our mission is to revolutionise biological research and innovation through cutting-edge technology.

As the Head of Business Development, you will play a critical role in building and implementing the company go-to-market strategy. You will work closely with the co-founders and other senior leaders to create a bridge between our science, our product and our partners.

 

What you will be doing:
  • Drive the go-to-market strategy: Analyse & identify the optimal positioning to successfully deploy our science, models and products.
  • Develop Strategic Partnerships: Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the biomedical industry, including pharmaceutical companies, diagnostic companies, research institutions, and healthcare providers.
  • Revenue Growth and Target Achievement: Drive revenue growth by meeting or exceeding business development targets. Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Actively promote Bioptimus at industry events, conferences, and through digital platforms. Develop compelling pitches and presentations to engage potential clients and partners. Maintain strong relationships with existing partners and stakeholders while continually expanding the company’s network. Represent the company in negotiations and at high-level meetings.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Build and mentor a business development team. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, and product development, to ensure alignment of business strategies and goals.

 

Who we are looking for:
  • Master Degree in Business or Science (or equivalent experience)
  • Expert level in a relevant environment (Pharma, Medtech, Biotech) with a proven track record in terms of business impact
  • Familiarity with AI and Representation Learning / Foundation Models
  • Understanding the biomedical ecosystem and the biomedical data lifecycle
  • In-depth knowledge and extensive network within large pharmaceutical R&D in the US 
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A ‘team-first’ kind of attitude
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
