As a key member of our International Sales team, this dynamic role integrates technical proficiency, operational oversight, and customer engagement. As an individual contributor, this position is crucial for the seamless deployment, logistics, and continuous support of ORBCOMM’s IoT devices for major shipping lines in the APAC region.

This a remote position that can be held in the following locations: Shanghai, Ningbo, or South China (Yantian, Nansha, Shekou).

What You’ll Do:

 Deployment, Installation, & Commissioning:

  • Lead and coordinate the installation and commissioning of ORBCOMM devices on the containers for shipping line customers.
  • Train service technicians and third parties on proper device installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and update training materials and deployment guidelines to ensure operational consistency.

Operations & Logistics Support:

  • Monitor and manage the timely receipt and delivery of the devices to customer depots, ports, and factories in the APAC region.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure efficient shipping and resolve any supply chain issues promptly.
  • Track inventory levels and provide updates to internal teams and customers as needed.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers in the APAC region, addressing technical or operational queries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including customer teams and service partners, to facilitate seamless operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and resolve customer issues effectively.

Travel Requirements:

  • 50% to 75% travel within the APAC region to support customer deployments, operations, and relationships is required. 

Who You Are:

You’re a strategic thinker with a knack for operational excellence, ready to tackle multiple priorities with agility and grace. If you have: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a related area.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in IoT, telecommunications or logistics industries.
  • Familiarity with maritime or shipping line operations is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with IoT device deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with hardware and software integration with proficiency in tools and platforms commonly used for IoT solutions.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics processes in the APAC region.
  • Proven ability maintain relationships with customers and third-party vendors.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and comfortable in a dynamic global environment.
  • Excellent communication in both English and Mandarin.
