Your Role

The Vehicle Examiner will be responsible for the auditing maintenance procedures and Inspection of company commercial vehicles to Department of Transport standards. Also carrying out other related duties. This is a National role so extensive travel will be required. The working week for this role is Monday – Friday.

Your Responsibilities

• To conduct safety and health audits/reviews with each vehicle workshop Supervisor and ensure compliance is upheld.
• Ensure administrative tasks are carried out within five in-house workshops and one third party workshop and they meet with regulatory standards.
• Carry out maintenance audits on the company commercial vehicle fleet Nationally.
• Safety inspections on company operated Forklift trucks at each location.
• Periodically audits driver daily walkaround checks, to ensure they are carried out as required under the terms company Operators license obligations.
• Inspections in relation to uphold company food safety standards related to bulk tanker operations.
• Carry out monthly fuel analysis/generate reports for the Distribution Director, Regional Distribution Managers and Fleet Engineer.
• Participate in cooperation with the Workshop Supervisors in updating Risk Assessments and Method Statements related to vehicle maintenance procedures.
  
  

Your Profile

• City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering or recognised equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrable experience working within vehicle engineering environment
• LGV license (C+E) desirable but not essential
• Competent with vehicle diagnostics
• Knowledge of bulk pressure systems (training would be provided)
• Understanding of Dept of Transport operating requirements
• A good working knowledge of Excel/Word software.
